Review of The Witch Who Came from the Sea (1976) by Larry W — 17 Apr 2010
What, exactly, does an exploitation movie set out to do? Shock and amuse in a way nothing else we've seen does. Well, this movie succeeds. It is surprising, hilarious, bizarre, underrated and absolutely absurd.
However, it is also extremely mis-represented by every piece of advertising I have ever seen for it. (The current DVD cover art has nothing to do with it, and the new trailers present it as some sort of sexy serial killer story.).
