Review of The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (2003) by C R — 12 Jul 2008
What an incredible movie. See it for any number of reasons: the beautiful photography (it's set in San Francisco, an incredibly beautiful city); Mark Bittner, the man who befriends and cares for the parrots; the parrots themselves, each one a distinct and complex character; the narratives that the filmmaker weaves together with grace and skill.
This movie is a gem--and if you're an animal-lover, have some tissues handy.
