Review of The Whales of August (1987) by Corinne S — 06 Oct 2007
Would you see a sweet little movie about four old people? I couldn't wait to see it when I read that the cast comprised Lillian Gish, Bette Davis, Vincent Price and Ann Sothern. These four gems of old Hollywood delivered priceless performances; there may not be deafening guns and explosions, but hearing the clear voices of these giants of the silver screen is enough to keep the viewer riveted.
And Alan Price's distinctive music score makes the movie even more precious.
