Review of The TV Set (2007) by Troy B — 24 Oct 2007
Jake Kasdan is one of the luckiest sons of bitches in Hollywood. Your dad wrote and directed some of the biggest and most entertaining films in our generation's history. His dad shaped the "studio system" that we have in place now- which is why it's somewhat ironic that his outlook is so grim on how things are run in this town (and for the record, it's spot on).
Sigourney Weaver's studio executive is literally cut from the same cloth as "real-life" execs, with the same notes, the same opinions, and the same tenancy to show her 10 year old daughter everything as her springboard.
Sharp and cynical, I loved this movie and really feel for poor David Duchovny's character.
