Review of The TV Set (2007) by Justin C — 05 Nov 2007
If you're a fan of deadpan humor then you should probably give this a peep. A very funny look in the world of television and more specifically Pilot Season. It makes you wonder if some of the shit on TV went through this process of starting out as wonderful idea for a show but then it gets hacked into pieces of crap by the big TV heads.
David Duchovny plays the role of the troubled writer. It's one of those performances where it wouldn't seem that funny on paper but the way he delivers his lines and his reactions (or lack of) to his co-stars ends up being hilarious.
Written and directed by Jake Kasdan whose other film, ZERO EFFECT, is one of my favorite movies of all time.
