Review of The Truth About Jane (2000) by Ruth L — 27 Mar 2009
The Truth About Jane is an inspiring story about how a young girl begins to discover the pains of her sexuality and her family's gradual coming to gripes with it. I like how the movie ended with an irony with Jane commenting on how far her mother has grown and also Jane's teacher's own subtle coming-out.
i'm impressed by Kelly Rowan, Ellen Muth and Stockard Channing's performances. Channing was at her best playing the uptight maternal figure. I hope we see more of Ellen Muth in similar movie roles such as this.
Kelly Rowan should really stick to movies with more colorful roles like this instead of the dreary dull mother Kirsten she played in the O.C.
