Review of The Tribe (2014) by Cameron G — 18 Aug 2015
Bold, poignant and confronting, this silent Ukrainian drama grasps its unique narrative and utilises extremely well in conveying how love, hate, and jealously transcend language. The acting, though silent, is engaging and honest and the narrative maintains a dark, mature complexity to it, however there were some scenes which I believed to be unnecessary within the context of the story which in my opinion were also confronting.
But nonetheless, it is a truly unique film that must be seen to be believed.
