Review of The Times of Harvey Milk (1984) by Richard F — 19 Dec 2008
Incredibly moving account of the 'times' and and untimely (and unfortunate) demise of Harvey Milk. This is documentary filmmaking at it's most potent. Every second feels entirely essential to the form of the film.
This can be hard to watch at times but it's also filled with hope and is a testament to what one person can do and how their actions can effect a mass of people. I'd consider this to be amongst the best documentaries I've seen and it's certainly deserving of it's Academy Award.
