Review of The Teacher (1974) by Brian R — 02 Sep 2009
The trailer for this "sexploitation" fare was about as perfect a sales tool as I could ask for. In less than 3 minutes, I thought for sure that this would be, bare minimum, watchable. Instead, this plays out like a slow-as-molasses thriller/mystery meets an erotic romance.
In actuality, it really qualifies as neither. The acting, as is to be expected, is painful to watch. The story.....what? This scenes that are what I assume the cause for the NC-17 rating are no more adult-oriented than anything you've seen on basic cable during primetime.
I'll give it two stars because Angel Tompkins is gorgeous.
