Review of The Suicide Manual (2003) by Anita R — 11 Mar 2009
It was slow and independently made (which in Japan says a lot) but it was interesting. I don't know if I'll watch it again but, I'm glad I saw it. It's an interesting response to the book though.
I like how it tried to counter the attitude the book gave when it came to how it portrayed suicide. The book condones it and tells you that if you want to die, do it and lists how you can, how it's done and how painful it is/how easy it is (so a lot like the DVD described in the movie).
I just don't think it quite delivered the message it was going for.
