Review of The Story of Luke (2013) by Jesse O — 10 Nov 2013
Offbeat, yet enjoyable story of Luke (Lou Taylor Pucci) a man with autism who ends up moving in with his uncle and family after the death of his grandmother. I'm guessing he is a high functioning autistic, because he can carry on conversations, make meals, get a job, and take the bus all on his own.
Not like most movie Autistics who count cards (Rain Man) or are all sappy (I Am Sam). There's even a scene where an agency for special people is trying to place him in a position, but first asks him if he has any talents.
..there's some laughs here, and most of that is due to Pucci's impressive performance. Support from Cary Elwes as the uncle, Seth Green as an angry boss, and the rest of the family isn't too bad either.
Nothing amazing, nothing horrible, above average.
