Review of The Saddest Music in the World (2003) by Davey M — 21 Jun 2010
Guy Maddin makes movies unlike anything you've ever seen, unless you happen to have seen a Guy Maddin film. "The Saddest Music in the World" is probably my favorite I've seen from Maddin thus far--it looks like a bizarre cinematic relic from the early sound period, and it's funny, poetic, moving, beautiful, and very, very strange.
You should probably see this movie.
