Review of The Puffy Chair (2006) by David Ray G — 18 Jun 2008
The easiest way for me to put it, this is the essence of what an indie film should be. Like many first feature length films for indie directors, there was obviously heart and care put into this movie, for the how the characters are portrayed demonstrates the attention given to them as all of those involved in this movie completely understand them.
I did have a problem with some of the camera work as the camera would move around, zoom in on a character, blur, and readjust back out a little bit. It was just a little distracting at times by exposing some of the shot patterns of the film, but it's a low budget, but the driving force of the drama and these characters keeps the movie going.
I want to fight with the ending since it didn't end how I wanted it to, but after watching the whole movie, it works. Almost everyone should watch this movie and root for the main couple as they make their road trip to pick up and deliver the puffy chair.
