Review of The Pill (2011) by Marilena G — 26 Jun 2014
The characters of this film are 'loathsome and irritating' according to other reviewers, and I agree they are, but that's what I like about it. It's not your regular shmultzy polished Hollywood love story.
These are like real people with real, complicated lives, who are looking for something but don't really know what they want. They lie, cheat and manipulate each other in a very short timeframe as they try to figure it out, but you catch a glimpse of the vulnerabilities driving them to behave so detestably.
I love the ending and hope they're never tempted to make a sequel, it's a good story exactly as it stands.
