Everything I want in a haunted house movie. When I saw it in the theater, I liked it very much, but I was put off by the sadness of a certain plot point. It seemed a little TOO harsh, even given the fact that the haunted house mystery revolves around the murder of handicapped children.
.. Still the gorgeous images and don't-make-em-like-that-anymore suspense stuck with me, so I watched it again, and I'm very glad I did. Even better on the second viewing, The Orphanage will be a permanent addition to my gloomy day library.
