Leading actresss is very good. Some of the cinematography and images are good. In the older vampire tradition of the succubus, similar to a pagan goddess with lesbian overtones. The vamp looks the part but she's a fashion model rather than an actress.
The characters and cast are too homogenous and the portrayal of teenage girls is unrealistic and clunky - headline grabbing issues are referenced but not explored with any depth. Trying to hint at Black Swan and Susprisia perhaps but falling way short due to poor dialogue in groups and the diary narration - some one on one dialogue is good.
The leading actress and gothic style still make it very watchable to fans of this kind of thing and the use of nature's forboding dark presence in a female oriented tragedy is comparible to 'My Summer of Love', but again not as good as that film.
An attempt to return horror cinema to it's literary roots, but too slick, commercial and impersonal.
