In light of what's going on in Charlottesville, VA right now--unapologetic racists literally chanting things from the National Socialist playbook, knowing that they have the support of a major political party--Marcel Ophuls' epic, 4+ hour documentary examining the complexities of collective memory and guilt about the Holocaust and other crimes against humanity feels more relevant than ever.
