Review of The Letter (1998) by Claudia F — 27 Dec 2010
Typically open ended Gallic Christmas movie (of sorts) thatï¿ 1/2(TM)s more interested in dissecting family humbug than in ï¿ 1/2God bless us, every oneï¿ 1/2 type yuletide miracles. Despite the festive fun, this is not exactly a comedy, but the quality of the performances and dialogue and the non-judgmental attitude to its characters make it a rewardingly grown up alternative to innumerable tales of plucky children and / or animals saving Santa.
Not a million miles from Hannah andHer Sisters or Le Gout Des Autres so if you like that sort of thing...
