Review of The Hunted (2014) by Alejandro G — 01 Oct 2014
The Hunted is the type of movie that should be experienced alone in the dark and away from any human interaction. It deserves your full attention. Sadly not many people will be able to appreciate the film this way due to the recent trend of jump scares in found footage these last few years.
Josh Stewart has created an dark and tense experience with his film. This films demonstrates one of my favorite concepts in horror and that is that waiting is better than throwing everything at the audience at once.
A simple hunt in the woods gets more disturbing with each new detail revealed through out the movie. The main 2 characters worked symmetrically and their roles fed off of one another. This works tremendously well when they are left vulnerable and exposed in the woods.
The Hunted delivers on the scares and should be watched by horror fans.
