Review of The Horseman (2008) by David S — 11 Nov 2010
Sometimes Australian movies create a reputation for being grittier, more disgusting, more inappropriate than our expectations. This could be one example. It's the most brutal vengeance flic I've seen in a long while.
The violence starts out gory from the very beginning and rises to a squirm-inducing level of guts, bruising, and blood by the end. And yet, it weaves some ironic and poignant plot points into the bloody threads.
Definitely worth a viewing some angry night.
