Beautifully shot. I could have dealt without the extended flashbacks detailing the lives of the passengers, but there weren't enough of them to really bog down the film. John Wayne seemed to be having a ball, for once he didn't have to do the hard stuff and left it all to Robert Stack.
..who was also amazing! Another film where he gets to show more than one emotion. And all the smoking in the cockpit was priceless.
