Review of The Heron and the Crane (1974) by John A — 15 Aug 2009
Norstein's animation is so unique in its texture and detail. This film follows the prideful crane and heron as they embark on an endless courtship of one another. Both want to be married, but neither can seem to put aside their pride long enough to come together.
The gentle, simple story combined with the excellent style of animation makes this (and all of Norstein's work) a must see.
