Review of The Hard Word (2002) by David S — 01 Jul 2007
Fun and entertaining Aussie heist thriller with a very quirky sense of humor. The film is most definitely unconventional, I would even go as far as to say "bizarre" in its tone, but the plot itself boils down to the typical "heist goes wrong" formula we see in most crime films of this type.
The film also drags at time, but the good performances from the cast and just weird sensibilities of the world they inhabit keep our interest. It tries to be original and unique, but deep down it's just the same product in a different guise.
