Review of The Grey Zone (2001) by Adam H — 06 Jul 2010
Important, heart-breaking and intensely upsetting The Grey Zone asks some extremely hard questions of its viewer: what would you do if you were faced with a life and death choice? Is it better to survive than to die with "dignity"? What price does a good deed have?
This movie has the requisite harshness to be a real story of the horrors of the holocaust too, with some truly horrendous imagery that I'm not going to forget in a hurry. It's VERY hard work, up there with United 93 in terms of emotional punch but its a superb piece of work.
If you want to take a look into the Heart of Darkness, then by all means give this movie a go. But you wont enjoy it. It may change you but you wont want to remember it.
