Review of The Girl in the Book (2015) by Silence D — 21 May 2016
The Girl In The Book is an interesting movie. What the script can't deliver, the actors can. Anchored by Emily VanCamp and Michael Nyquist, where this movie really delivers is in the characters. The plot helps, although it is muddled at times.
And the script fluctuates between stellar and cringe-worthy. Despite these negatives, the storytelling, actors, and characters pull out a win. The main star of this movie though, is Emily VanCamp. The depths that she takes this character is amazing.
I look forward to seeing her in more projects down the line. All in all, this is a movie that, if you stick with it, will be a worthy addition to your movie collection.
