Review of The Front Line (2011) by Sam S — 08 Aug 2012
One of the most brutal war movies of all time, the Front Line borrows heavily from standard-fare war movie tropes, but yet manages to create something wonderfully unique. Well-shot, well-paced, well-acted, well-written, and well-scored.
.. it's a rare production where everything comes together. Gritty realism and the bleak, overbearing hopelessness of the soldiers' situation balance out with plot elements that might otherwise seem extraordinary or too melodramatic.
