Review of The Company of Strangers (1990) by Davey M — 18 Mar 2008
As perfect and admirable and touching and compassionate a film as ever there was--director Cynthia Scott deserves to be canonized for this. There should be more movies like this, and like much of Louis Malle's work (and certainly others as well)--films that take their time to look at people and listen to conversations and enlarge worlds.
Some of the saddest, sweetest, and most uplifting 105 minutes in film history. A masterpiece that everyone in this world should see.
