Review of The Celluloid Closet (1996) by Sonia S — 10 Jan 2009
A fine adaptation of Vitto Russo's survey of homosexuality in cinema. This film sticks to American films more than Russo's book, but it's a great condensed study of the histories and issues surrounding portrayals of the GLBTQ community in film.
It definitely acts as good starting point for analysis of gender and sexuality in cinema.
