Great characters and storytelling. You can really feel the emotion of people fed up with living in fear. Sounds corny to say, but I thought it captured the human spirit of throwing of complacency and refusing to accept an oppressive presence.
Also does a great job of framing the personal stories of people in a larger context where various factions of power are at play.
