Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by John U — 22 Sep 2014
An amazing film that I think I should speak about. First I DON'T LIKE IT FOR ITS RACISM. D W Griffith wasn't racist either, he made the film to show how people got brainwashed by the KKK. It portrays blacks badly because that is how southerners thought of them in that time period.
The southerners were brainwashed like Nazis and they thought it was the right idea to treat blacks like that but it is obviously not. I love the film since it covers that aspect a lot. Not to mention it's incredible film techniques for its time.
