Review of The Birdcage (1996) by Mondez D — 15 Sep 2011
Such a funny movie and Nathan Lane really makes it work. I find it funny and sad that people are reviewing this movie a decade or more after and applying their current idea of sexuality on a movie made in 1995.
Yes, this movie uses lots of stereotypes but for the love of God, it was made 17 years ago when these sorts of movies were acceptable. People are such idiots. As a gay man I can watch this movie and enjoy it because it was one of the first BIG MAINSTREAM movies that had a loving positive gay couple in its leading role and people today still don't seem to realize how much of a big deal that was 17 years ago and use today's standards for this older movie.
Get over it gays!!!!!!!! Jesus, I'm so sick of the bitching.
