Review of The Beat Generation (1959) by Allan C — 23 Jun 2013
This story of Mamie Van Doren and a detective's hunt for a sex maniac has little to do with Kerouac and Ginsberg, but everything to do with campy exploitation. It's a terrible movie, but it's entertaining if you're in the mood for some camp.
You also get Robert Mitchums son James , pin-up queen Irish McCalla, Vampira as a beat poet , and character actor William Schallert in an uncredited role.
