Review of The Battery (2007) by Michaela H — 24 Jan 2014
The Battery is what this genre is all about. The human story, how we cope with the end of everything and an enemy that is us and at the same time isn't. Well, that and people running from hordes of zombies, looting and pillaging the land on the way living like gods.
But The Battery ticks all the boxes in the genre. Its got a fractured relationship, some fantastic songs (and a dance scene), horror and comedy in equal measures plus a couple of skillful twists and 'I can't believe the did that...' moments. Now while I was a little disappointed about the ending, I can't say it taints the rest of the film.
Easily the best zombie film of 2012. And all for $6,000.
