Review of The Bang Bang Club (2011) by Pedro J — 03 Oct 2011
This one actually has the two most important ingredients for a great film, a decent script and good direction. But thanks all mechanical actors, this real life story just feels unrealistic. Its a story of four photographers on their assignment in South Africa in 1990 to 1994 covering the combat between the masses at the end of its legal racial discrimination.
I was pretty amazed with the small characters who actually shocked me with their performances giving me the feel of civil war. Some of the scenes from this film are pretty amazing but others are ruined by the poor lead performances.
Do watch the credits for the actual photographs taken in that time. They are 10 times better than the whole film. 2 out of 5 from me.
