Review of The Attack (2012) by Neil C — 01 Jun 2013
This film avoids taking sides on a highly charged social and political subject, and instead focuses on the human aspect of discovering that the person you love is not who you thought you were. In the process of coming to grips with that knowledge, a successful surgeon admired and embraced by the two cultures he straddles, ends up being accepted by neither.
A remarkable film, full of surprising twists and beautifully directed and acted. The fact that it is spoken equally in Modern Hebrew and Arabic with English subtitles does not nothing to lessen its emotional impact.
