Review of The American Side (2016) by Harry G — 03 May 2016
Loved the movie! If you're looking for some pat, conventional mystery, this is definitely not the one. It's a quirky, fun, wise guy throwback to the good old days of snarky, disheveled PI's bouncing from one gorgeous, mysterious woman after another.
Great cameos by Matthew Broderick, Robert Forster and Janeane Garofalo, who do nothing but irritate and stir up Stuhr's character, an obsessive, sarcastic, high energy Polish detective who just can't seem to put all the pieces together.
.. until he does. Ricker proves that a great plot, a bunch of fine actors, and a great original score by David Shire a wonderful movie makes! Also, her shots of Niagara Falls are spectacular. Never seen anything like it.
