Review of The Acid House (1998) by Lyndsey P — 18 Jan 2008
This movie is really weird. There are three stories, all set in Scotland.
If you aren't British, you'll want to have English subtitles as most of the characters have strong accents and talk in slang.
I love this movie because it shows the dark side of Scottish life. It shows the down and outs, how they live their lives.
It is dark, twisted and funny.
I've just noticed that the stories are by Irvine Welsh, the man responsible for Trainspotting. It all makes sense now.
Sex, drugs, violence, madness.
A must see.
