Review of Tamara Drewe (2010) by Caleb C — 25 Aug 2011
My 5 stars here comes from a place that just enjoyed the film as a whole in full. It does have slight flaws, but I couldn't help but love everything about this film that actually feels somewhat inspired by the Coen brothers comedic films.
Everything about this film is very charming and witty. It is an adaption of a graphic novel and in some ways does have a bit of a Daniel Clowes feel to it as well. As missleading as the poster is, this is not what it looks like entirely.
It is very intelligent at being dumb. Every character shines bright in this film and as odd as it may be, the 2 younger girls in this totally steal the show. It does have it's heartbreaking moments, but those are quickly revived with some very humours situations.
