Oh wow, this movie is excellent! This film is close to my heart, since this is what I imagine my ancestors (I think it'd be great grandparents) went through. There are so many parallels here between the movie and family stories and tidbits I've heard about early Minnesota.
The story seems accurate, then, and the touching story makes it beautiful as well. If you've got some patience for a slower paced movie (compared to most action films of today. Ho-hum), then I highly recommend this movie!
