Review of Sweet Karma (2009) by Anand K — 23 Feb 2014
Sweet Karma delivers the sweets and the karma but forgot the rest of the order.
This little Canadian revenge film is filled with beautiful women in little to no clothing and it adds in a few moments of some ultra violence. Unfortunately, the low budget shows tremendously with poor acting, a terrible script and worst of all... hard to watch cinematography. Who lit this thing? There are scenes so dim that I'd swear I was watching a shot on VHS feature from the 80s if it weren't for the techno soundtrack and modern clothing and hairstyles (even in Euro standards).
That aside, watching a film about Toronto based Eastern European human trafficking does hold a little interest for someone like myself... and even if that's not very good, the ladies do their darndest to keep me from noticing the many flaws contained within this low budget flick.
