Review of Sunshine Cleaning (2008) by Dana S — 07 May 2010
Apparently, I knew little more than the title and the main cast when I decided I wanted to watch this movie. I had no idea the glue holding everything together was about a "bio-hazard removal" cleaning business.
It was a very simple story told beautifully. Easy to enjoy. My only pet peeve was the flightiness of the single mother (played by Amy Adams) in regards to awareness of her child. Know where your child is and what they are doing! I think this movie would touch a chord with anyone who has experienced death in their family, knows the pains of being an older or younger sibling, and those who struggle to get somewere "not here" in life.
