Review of Sunset Song (2015) by Mike G — 24 Sep 2016
Slow and deliberate, the film takes us through teen to early married years of a young lassie who believably suffers the loss of family members, culminating with the death of her husband, executed for desertion in a war he could not believe in.
Sad, poignant, uplifting, the central figure endures difficult situations in ways which we are made to live through her. Her acting rises to each occasion and we feel for her sorrows while know she is strong enough to survive them.
