Review of Summer of Blood (2014) by Tom T — 08 Nov 2015
This Onur Tukel comedy looks much better than his latest Applesauce, even if it's much lighter and has less drama.
A simple Woody Allen-style relationship farce is turned around by all figures becoming zombies and having fun at the expense of the others. Dating and sex is great again, and you won't die. But the essential question with whom to live becames even more troublesome, because it's not 40 years anymore, it's becoming forever. Which closes the circle of the relationship dilemma.
Most of the scenes play outside, which makes great lightning and the camera is always on the move, and the actors are fantastic, esp. my favorites Dustin Guy Defa, Keith Poulson, Alex Karpovsky and Melodie Sisk.
