Review of Sukiyaki Western Django (2007) by Jason K — 10 Dec 2008
This is an interesting take on the western genre. Miike makes some very odd films and this one is a strange one as well. Its his take on the western genre and draws strong influence from "Django" and "Fistful of Dollars.
" Two clans battling over a treasure in a town and a mysterious unnamed gunman comes. While the story telling leaves a little to be desired, It has some very interesting gun fights and characters to boot.
Unless your a big fan of Miike, Id reccomend renting it first to see if you like it. Im pretty sure this one will be a hit or miss for a lot of people.
