Review of Street of Women (1932) by Simcha G — 09 Apr 2014
Can a movie with a rediculously melodramatic script and a terrible director be worth seeing...apparently. Charming performances from Gloria Stuart Roland Young and even the male ingenue Alen Vincent save it.
The desperation and transition are present: the Depression and the Empire State Building are both in the background. And Kay Francis had that "special something" which keeps one watching her even when she is says really corny stuff.
