Review of Stranger Than Fiction (2000) by Brandon W — 17 Feb 2015
Stranger than Fiction is something that you see from The Truman Show, but it's actually more of a different twist on it and it tries to be its own movie. Will Ferrell is really great as a drama actor while having some quirky and funny moments.
Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Dustin Hoffman are also great too, and the plot is really good. It's well-written, has good characters, well-directed, and it's very interesting. It's smart, it gets more twisty, and Stranger than Fiction is like something Charles Kaufman would write, which is not a bad thing.
It also shows that with a comedian like Will Ferrell can also be a drama actor like Adam Sandler that does it well.
