Review of Stanley Ka Dabba (2011) by Dexter R — 11 Jan 2013
Refreshing and honest indie film about Stanley and his dabba (lunch box) to come out from India cinema. Story is very original too. Casting was amazing despite most of them being untrained actors. Performances by Partho Gupte (Stanley), Amole Gupte and the supporting cast were extraordinary.
Beautiful and accurate portrayal of school life in a boys school in suburban Mumbai. Personally feel this movie by Amol Gupte is better than Taare Zameen Par (which he wrote) that is just a typical Bollywood tear jerker but with an atypical story.
