Review of Speak (2004) by Megan K — 24 Jan 2009
I found this movie perfect in its portrayal of high school in America, although the same could be said of school in England. Kristen Stewart's performance is perfect . The portrayal of a rape victim is heart warming with her performance of Melinda Sordino who does not speak much at all in the film, while the story is mainly told through her thoughts with observant commentary.
Overall this movie is moving to the feelings of sadness, but the outcome of her character is so uplifting that you feel euphoric almost at her change of strength over what had happened to her. Perfect.
