Review of Something from Nothing: The Art of Rap (2012) by Cristiano D — 19 Jul 2012
A documentary that focuses on rap as an artform and how some of the experts in that field cultivate their rhymes. So I'm pleased that P-Diddy doesn't feature at all, instead we get snippets of interviews and freestyle flows from the likes of Chuck D, KRS-One, Ras Kass, Redman amongst many others.
It is missing some noticeable heavyweights such as Busta Rhymes and Method Man but it doesn't diminish the overall film at all. I was really impressed at how well Eminem came across too. (and if you don't think he's worthy of being in the film, then you don't understand the slant the documentary has taken).
