Review of Society (1989) by Dan H — 09 May 2017
This film gets my golden seal of approval. The literal metaphor of the film is a little too on the nose, there is a failed attempt at comedy in a few bits, and inappropriate music is played at times near the end but this film still ROCKS! Billy Warlock, Devin DeVasquez, Tim Bartell, and Evan Richards are all great in their respective roles, with Warlock making for a fine lead.
I also really liked Devin DeVasquez as his love interest, Clarissa Carlin. The film itself drops you right into the thick of it. I like a film that grabs you by your throat and takes off running, and it doesn't really stop til the end.
Society is intense, thrilling and terrifying throughout. I'd go so far as to say it may be a masterpiece. If you are at all a fan of horror, then Society is a must-see.
